One end of the island has three full extension drawers on ball bearing glides. The drawer boxes are constructed from 1/2" baltic birch plywood for beauty & strength. All four corners are machined to interlock & the 1/4" bottom panel is in a dado on all four sides. This is an incredibly strong box. The face panel is applied with screws from the inside of the box. All surfaces are sealed with three coats of clear lacquer.
