Shown here is an infant's crib executed in red oak. Yes, I know the finish is dark. The owner chose to use a dark ebony stain. The sealer coat is semigloss lacquer. This crib is multi-functional. The mattress suport can be lowered as the child grows to gain an additional 12" in depth.

When you are ready to transition from the crib to the first bed, the front gate can be removed. When the child outgrows that arrangement, the rear panel is seperated from the assembly and becomes a headboard for a full size bed. Just bolt it to a metal frame or come back and see me for wooden rails and a footboard to match. Yes, other stains are available as well as your choice of wood species.
